Glenn Erickson has a story to tell and he does so in the 22 tracks of his
newly released cd. The title track is a near blues sounding number. " My
Life " has all the flavor of a select blend of Beal Street and 16th
Avenue. The lyrics set up the rest of the numbers of the cd and was a
masterful foundation for the rest of the album. Each number that follows
takes us on a journey of tales about people we will all know someone like.
It makes the cd one that will stand the test of time.
Glenn has a vocal presentation that is original and smooth and does not
feel over commercialized. You can believe that Glenn believes in what he
is singing. Story telling in music is an art form and Glenn can stand
amongst the great masters in this field. One of the finer aspects too is
that no matter what genre you prefer it would be impossible to not find
something here you will enjoy. Each song could be a single release, there
are no " filler " quality numbers here. each number is skillfully lain
before the listener in a manner that feel natural and non-intrusive.
